The sport version 2SE (the strutted version) will have an introductory price of $39,900 until July 4, 2014. This also includes a hand held radio and some other stuff. Altogether maybe $400-$500 of extras. If you follow these intro prices what do you think the price would go to after the dead line is up..... Keep in mind Oshgosh is just around the corner and I wouldn't be shocked if they had a better offer then...... Any thoughts? thanks

$40k seems a lot for basically a two seat ultralight-type airplane. You can get a lot of airplane for $40k if you look around.

I guess it just depends on what you like and what kind of flying you enjoy.

$40k is a lot, Andy. OTOH, consider that this is an SLSA, so its primary market would be flight schools. Most of the cheap aircraft out there cannot be used for Sport Pilot instruction for hire, or for rental. Exceptions are the classic Champs, Taylorcraft, Cubs, etc. (Which, if in good condition, probably cost about the same, and are, let's face it, 70 year old aircraft).

All of those other $40k airplanes are useless if you want to offer a transition training into ultralights. There wasn't a comparable entry in S-LSA market since Higher Class Aviation folded with their Sport Hornet offering. Dragonfly is a single-seater, IIRC.
