Cockpit backup avionics...

Talk about airplanes! At last count, there are 39 (and growing) FAA certificated S-LSA (special light sport aircraft). These are factory-built ready to fly airplanes. If you can't afford a factory-built LSA, consider buying an E-LSA kit (experimental LSA - up to 99% complete).

Primary nav on my Sky Arrow is an AirGizmo mounted 496.

Charting by iPad Mini running WingXPro7.

Backup is my iPhone, also running WingXPro7.

Gets us where we want to go!

I love WingXPro7 (v8). Can't say enough good things about it. Very intuitive.
The simulator feature is awesome for practicing planned cross countries.

I was an early adopter of WingX (on a BlackBerry, two or three generations back) before there was a Pro version. My EFB is now WingX Pro version 8 on an iPad, with a BlackBerry as my backup.
The opinions posted are those of one CFI, and do not necessarily represent the FAA or its lawyers.
