A fixed-wing, single-engine plane carrying two men crashed Sunday morning at the edge of the Wright Brothers National Memorial in Kill Devil Hills.
The 2006 Fantasy SRO Air Allegro 2000 crashed about 10:40 a.m. inside the park border, said Cyndy Holda, a National Park Service spokeswoman. The plane was mangled in some trees but did not break apart, she said.

I didn't read the article, but read on another forum that conditions were 15G25 at the time. I landed my CTSW once in 17G22 conditions (wind was 5kt when I took off!), and it was a handful. It's pretty easy to see how this could happen in those winds.Dangeruss wrote:
