Head on a swivel ... Eyes Outside!

Post by bryancobb »

You guys keep that focus on looking around outside.

I have a wealthy, narcissistic friend who owns a Seneca III. He is a commercial instrument multiengine land and sea rated pilot who flys over 500 hours (just for fun, not for business) per year, including to Mexico and the Caymans.

HE HAS FAILED EVERY CHECKRIDE HE HAS EVER TAKEN, DUE TO NEVER LOOKING OUTSIDE! He feels that everyone should stay away from HIM, and "SEE-AND-AVOID" applies to everyone else but him.

He loudly complains when skydiving is taking place on the field, and always cuts in front of other pilots in the pattern or does long straight-in approaches while other planes are in the pattern. If you hear "Seneca N122GB" or "Grumman N814GP," on the radio RUNNNNNN!

I'm sure you have all met people like him!

Yes this is a big problem.

That is why we all need to beware of others, especially in the pattern.
Paul is a Sport Pilot CFI/DPE and the expert for ASA who writes the books and produces the DVD's for all pilots flying light sport aircraft.
See www.SportAviationCenter.com www.Sport-Pilot-Training.com and www.BeASportPilot.com to Paul's websites
