Speaking of needing a place to go, for those in Florida, do you subscribe to Steve Ritzi's newsletter? He sends out weekly newsletters with weekly fly in events all over the state.
There are 5 different fly in events this Saturday alone.

I've had http://funplacestofly.com embedded in my website for years. On my site, anyone clicking on the "events" tab (at the top of all pages) can scroll down to the bottom of the page and find local events listed. It's a great resource.
