I heard of a airport that had a killer burger a grass strip and a museum on the field, what's a pilot to do.
I filled up my CTSW and got the president of my gluing club and made the trip from KCHA TO GA2.
Barnstormers Grill is located on the field and served me the best burger I have had at an onfield airport. And I have been to a few. The restaurant as a raised seating area which must be a great place to watch the action on a Saturday. As we taxied to our tie down spot we were fortunate to watch a vintage aircraft, that is normally on view in the museum, take off for only the second time since it's restoration was complete just after thanksgiving.
It's gonna be a regular destination for me.

GA2 was where our Georgia members held their first backcountry flying clinic. Future such clinics will be held in a variety of other interesting locations around the state. The principal instructor has thousands of hours and currently owns and flies two a/c in GA and out in Bozeman, MT. He is kind enough to volunteer his time to the RAF. If interesting destinations are 'your thing', be sure to look for information on flying into Florida's largest professional rodeo this Spring, hosted by the local airport volunteers who are handling the cooking, transport and big ol' oak tree to camp under. We'll also be hosting an event up in the Panhandle this Spring at Blackwater Airfield 8FD3, a beautiful grass strip in Blackwater State Forest and adjacent to all the normal campground amenities including hot/cold showers, walking trails and a 'swimming hole' lined in sand, spring fed and beautiful. Everyone here should be able to take the plane you are flying into that field, which with its two smooth overruns, are together more than a statute mile in length. If you'd like to visit their on your own, camping under your wing, or are just curious about the field, please take a look at the RAF's safety briefing here:

Interesting destinations is what we're all about. After all, what's recreational flying without them? Pilots can not live by hamburgers alone. <s>

I'd be happy to fly down on any nice day when I don't have commitments!

Are we still on for the fourth?
If so, what time and who's coming?
Weather permitting, of course.

Love to, but this is going to be a trip with Karen and not much room for a third.
Still, love to see you there.

Hope that all the enthusiasm has not waned!
In any case, Karen and I are planning an arrival around noon.

Aha! Well, it seems to me some creative accounting could solve that problem.
