Bloomsburg PA fly-in with Designrs

Fly-Ins are excuses for pilots to go somewhere and eat. Airplanes. Food. What else could you ask for? Know of an upcoming fly-in? A great $100 hamburger? Don't keep it a secret. Share it here!

The guys at N13 had a outstanding breakfast. The runway is much improved and good to see planes in and out of there again. :D

Great day flying with David in his most beautifully crafted and self-built RV-12!
Rest assured that he activated the smoke system departing Bloomsburg.
Thanks David!!

Flying Northwest direct from KPTW to N13 there are a serries of ridges, especially as you get closer to N13. It is very similar to the terrain approaching KLHV on a similar NW heading. Quite a cool approach... hop the ridge and boogie down over the water and into the patten. Probably "just the usual" for the locals, but for those new to area it's pretty cool! :D

I'm down in Jacksonville FL, David. Thanks very much for sharing a bit of Fall with those of us who don't get much of it - very pleasing pics on what must have been a superb flying day.

We have similar ridges in and around Chattanooga, and I think they're common all along the Appalachians.

Fly Google Earth along the Appalachians and you'll see what I mean.

Evidence of past glacial activity, if I remember by geology right.

I live in WV and and spent a good bit of time in the mountains on the East coast. This pic looks different to me, like glacial scarring. But it could just be the perspective.

When I retire I want to study geology...always fascinating to me. The Appalacians were formed by two distinct tectonic upheavals, so, age wise, there are some significant features that are upside down.

They are terminal moraines from massive ice sheets (not like the glaciers and moraines that you see in the big mountains)

No problem Jack, but when there is white blanket on the ground and around 10 deg or below, I will need some of your pictures :) or better yet I'm coming to visit you
