is it really necessary to filter auto gas?

Would like to start using autogas in my CTLSi. Mechanic at my field says it's no problem, even with ethanol, as long as the gas doesn't sit in the tanks too long. He suggested I filter it with chamois cloth. I tried this but it didn't work--gas flows through the chamois at such a trickle that it would have taken me an hour or more just to fill a 5-gallon jerry can.

My questions:

Do I really need to filter auto gas?

If so, is there a better way to do it?

Thanks!

Probably not 100% necesssary, but a good idea nonetheless.

My Sky Arrow came with a “Mr. Filter”, which I always use with auto fuel.

I second a Mr Filter. I too received one with my Sling.
