Major Repair and Alteration Data Approval (MRA) reporting

Post by bitten192 »

There is much discussion and angst on the Flight Design Forum about the need for Major Repair and Alteration Data Approval (MRA) reporting to the FAA. This is the first I've heard of it. What's the story for SLSA's?

The reporting is not to the FAA. It's required by ASTM. Flight Design's stance on record keeping has been amped up because they are now working under EASA too. All manufacturers building aircraft under ASTM are required to keep these records.
