New Rotax service info releases

Post by roger lee »

FYI,

Here is new service info for the new software version for BUDS for the IS engine. This one will only affect about 10-12 people in the US.

Here is new service info for the Teflon fuel lines that feed the carbs if you have them. No longer on the 5 year replacement program.

Roger, I just got that SI. I wonder if this means I can replace rubber fuel hoses with the teflon ones when an engine comes in for the 5 year service, and then they're good for the life of the engine?

Hi Paul,

Yes you could, but a Sport Cruiser (you do have a Sport Cruiser, right?) doesn't have the fuel assembly block on the cross over tube that uses the banjo bolt setup.

actually, Roger, it's a SportStar, but you're right about the lack of the fuel assembly block.

The hoses on top of the engine would be included for the majority of the owners right now, but if you have a fairly new engine with the new style pump from the factory then it also has Teflon hoses. This won't affect most of us because we don't have that new of an engine.

Roger, Paul,
Have you guys purchased the B.U.D.S. Set Level 3 (part 864023) as is required by sb-912i-002 ?
I don't even see it listed at California Power Systems, they have Levels 1 & 2.
Looks like a pricey connector (at least Level 2 is,) but will be required at annual and for this and further updates, no?

thanks,
Craig

Hasn't come up for me yet, Craig, as none of my maintenance customers flies an iS. But, I'm sure I'm going to have to address this eventually.

Hi Craig,

Level 1-2 are for owners and mechanics. Level 3 is usually for distributors and they are $1087 and hard to come by. If you need an ECU flashed you will probably be taking it to a distributor. I am also available.
