Video recording in a rental LSA?

Post by Hambone »

My wife had this idea, which I'm sure others have had.

What about sticking a Garmin VIRB or a GoPro in the cockpit of your aircraft that you rent out, as a poor man's flight data recorder? We all know that we 'behave' better when being watched! And, although it could be used for instructional purposes, its primary purpose would be to record any non-standard event.

Would there be any implications of doing this? And would an insurance company possibly discount your premium?
