"My life policy will pay if I'm a passenger, but not if I'm the pilot. Apparently the left seat is far more dangerous than the right seat...go figure."

Actually, your life insurance carrier just failed to consider that possibility or perhaps ask a question like 'Do you fly in a light aircraft as a passenger?' If they had, you might find that excluded from coverage as well. So in a sense, you're getting half a loaf rather than no loaf. <g>

Well, after much thought I decided against going to the aopa for a one year pilots' policy for now. Instead, I decided to stay with the original request for 15 year term through Lincoln National, including filling out their aviation (pilot) form. I was very clear and honest.

My agent said they will either:

- Keep prior quote, exclude aviation
- Increase prior quote, cover aviation
- Withdraw quote entirely

If you hear a scream from three states away, that means I got the quote.

Thanks for the recommendation Sportpilot. I'm waiting to get my numbers before I move on to other agents.
