Finally, a place for sport pilot instructors and/or wannabees to talk about instructing.

Well, for an old guy that didn't really know how to study in high school, I don't think that a 93% is too bad on the SIA/CFI-S written. :D

Now move to PA, Marshall, and come to work for me!

Sure. I'm a 44 year private pilot with about 1100 hours, and I live in Oklahoma City, OK.

It all started in June when I took the FOI test. Then I got the study materials from Paul Hamilton at Sport Aviation Center in Carson City, NV for the Sport pilot CFI program. I studied for the written test and took it in November, and passed it. I did the two tests in OKC BEFORE going to Carson City.
Now I set up a time to go meet with Paul at his facility in Carson City. I left Oklahoma City March 30th in my motorhome and arrived in Carson City April 1st and started flying with an instructor at Sport Aviation Center April 2nd. The instructor was very thorough and when he felt I was ready for the checkride we scheduled it with Paul for April 18, 2021, AND I PASSED! :) Paul was a very good, patient, and pleasant examiner. Exam started at 7 am with the oral lasting about 4 hours, the flight was about 1.5 hours. I was on my way home about 3 pm.

I'd recommend anyone interested in CFIS to contact Paul at Sport Aviation Center, They are some really good people.
