Rans fly-in in Utah this weekend

Post by Hydroguy2 »

since SportPilotTalk is a little short on content these days, here's some juice.

We will be flying the Rans S-6ES, which we built last year, from Townsend (8U8) Montana to West Desert Airpark (UT99) in Utah for a Fly-in. Should be many lightsport aircraft. Here's the link: http://www.rmkplanes.com/Flyin.html

Should be a fun trip. With 18gal fuel capacity, we will probably stop for fuel twice, to cover the 400miles. N155MT cruises at 100mph burning 5gph carrying 2 "bubba's" and our stuff. We could probably do it in 1 stop, but checking out other airports is half the fun. It seems like a long time ago, when this 1st taxi test was performed. the plane has ~100hrs on it now and has been all over NW Montana and Idaho.

I'll try to get some pics of the trip. Also hoping Rans brings the new S-19 for us to Demo.

We left Townsend, MT (8U8) thursday afternoon and overnighted in Loagan UT (LGU). the smoke and afternoon sun weren't good for pics, but the next morning we got this shot out of the Mountains as we were climbing to 9500'.

Here's the Rans S-19 landing at WestDesertAirpark(ut99)
