Who's going to Sebring?

Post by Half Fast »

Sport Aviation Expo is next week. I'm planning to be there Friday 1/25. Anyone else going?

I'm here already (doing maintenance renewal courses), and will be here through the end of next week. Hope to see as many of my forum family as possible.

I was planning to fly down Thursday and Friday but the weather on Thursday now is calling for a 70% chance of thunderstorms. There's a front pushing through this week. It's looking like Friday now. Flying or driving, I'll be there.

I'm hoping to be able to go Thursday. Leaving Saturday for LSRM training in CA, so Friday I'm just too busy. Would really like to fly, but driving is looking like the best option now.

Meet too, Warmi. In my case, it happens to be Expo. All the others occur in the Spring or Summer, which are peak flight training season. I suppose the reason they scheduled Expo for January in FL is to give me a way to escape the snow. ;)

I will be there all week.
Planning to fly a turbo P2008 down from Minnesota on Monday.

It’s not that big of show so I hope you will all be able to stop by Tecnam and say hi. If I don’t recognize you please introduce yourself from the forum! And if anyone Knows of anyone interested in a new or used Tecnam please send them my way!

I would really like to take in a couple of Paul’s forums if it i can fit in.

Living in Florida we have 3 very nice aviation “expos” to attend and all are less than a 45 minute flight away. We have the Deland LSA show in November, the Sebring LSA show in January and of course Sun-n-Fun in Lakeland in April. This makes it very easy to attend at least these 3 shows. :D

We, in Florida, are blessed. Not that I'm encouraging our population to grow any faster, but the advantages are many... :)

What JJay meant to say is it really sucks here, no one should move here, we'll take one for the team so everyone can stay where they are. Remember we have hurricanes, alligators and retirees who sometimes forget how to drive.

Well, it is a blessing alright until, God forbid, you need to make an emergency off-airport landing, at which point, according to our own ShawnM , it is only a matter of time before an angry horde of alligators pops out from a nearby bush at which point your only hope is that this huge sink hole that’s about to open ( I hear they do open up every few minutes down there) is going to swallow the horde and not you and your plane.

It is a frigid 15 F outside today but there are objectively valid reasons why people end up living in places like Illinois.

Better that than retirees who forget how to fly!

Unless you're in a seaplane. In central FL, there are more lakes than land.

Alligator infested lakes? Hit one of those on landing and things will end badly.

True, Tom (but probably worse for the alligator that for the pilot).
