Weather apps for Android

Post by HAPPYDAN »

Okay, so I'm one of few that use Android devices. Not much available, aviation-wise. Recently, a friend showed me a new one, called FLOWX Weather maps. It looks like a very comprehensive weather predicting tool, not specifically designed for aviation, but a fast, easy to use snapshot of precip, wind, cloud cover, pressure, temps, etc. for current and future predictions. Has anyone here used this, and what do you think? Also, maybe since I disengaged a year ago, have there been some new aviation-specific apps for Android produced?

The WingX electronic flight bag from Hilton Software includes some excellent weather products. Initially developed maybe 15 years ago for the BlackBerry OS, it now supports both iOS and Android. Best of all, a single subscription allows you to use it both on your iPad and your Android phone.
