LSA rental near Palm Bay, FL

Post by tevbax »

I’ll be down in Palm Bay, FL the 3rd week of October, and looking to fly a bit. I have my SPT cert in a CTLS and just looking to take up something fun for a checkout. Any ideas?

I don't know where Palm Bay is. Give us a hint...

I'd check out Spaceport Aviation in Titusville, they have one LSA, an Aerotrek A240 and Voyager Aviation in Merritt Island has a Jabiru 230. Call or check out their websites to confirm. I dont know of any LSA training or rental in Melbourne but that doesn't mean there isn't any.

Hope this helps or gets you pointed in the right direction.

If you’re willing to drive over to Apopka, north of Orlando, First Landings has several Tecnam LSAs for rent. I’m a regular renter there.

We used to have an FBO LSA directory on this site. I stopped maintaining it when it became a full-time job keeping up with who owns what plane this week. The EAA listing of LSA rentals, maintenance shops, and flight schools is probably equally out of date, for the same reason. And AOPA's FBO directory is only accurate to the extent that individual businesses bother to go online to keep their own entries updated.

I started my training at First Landings and then I moved to Clearwater before I finished. It was a good school with many LSA aircraft. I just figured Apopka might have been too far from Palm Bay. If there are no options on the space coast then Apopka would be the next best choice.
