Anyone besides me going to the Sport Aviation Expo in Sebring this week?

Nope, you'll be the the only one going this week because the show is actually next week. :mrgreen:

Sebring LSA Expo is January 24-27 for the record.

I am however planning to go NEXT week on the 25th. Flying down from Zephyrhills.

Never been to an LSA specific expo .... frankly, if one is holding a full time job , it I hard enough to make time for even just one event like Oshkosh...
So I am wondering , are these LSA shows actually frequented by “real” people ( the way Oshkosh is) or are these events more for industry insiders ?

Yup, there are actually real people there. The 2 show in Florida are great shows and both growing in size. If you are interested in light sport it's the place to be. There's always something new to see and you get a chance to talk with manufacturers one on one.

Tecnam is right on the field and they have a large hangar full of beautiful aircraft. Lockwood is there if you happen to need parts and there's usually something going on at the race track just outside the gates.

There's something for everyone! :mrgreen:

The presentations and seminars are aimed at pilots, not industry insiders. Last year I went to Rod Machado's session and he was hysterical. Many vendors and manufacturers with products on display.

I went last year and really enjoyed going. Also went to the mid west expo last year. Sadly can't make Sebring this year, hoping to go to sun and fun even though not the same. Then planning on the Mid west expo again this year weather permitting of course.

Unfortunately, this year (for the first time) I will be absent from Sebring. I normally present four different FAA WINGS/AMT award seminars there every year. This year, FAA chose to hold their DPE class in Oklahoma City that very week. I tried to convince them to change the dates, to no avail. This just goes to show how low a priority LSA and the Sport Prlot rating are for the FAA. ; (

One who examines a designated pilot before a group flies home from the bar. Sorta like designated drivers.
