I finally did it!

Post by rezaf_2000 »

Hi folks,

As some of you might remember, I started my aviation journey around 2 years ago after attending Oshkosh and a week later getting a ride on an LSA plane and getting hooked. Well folks, it's been a roller coaster ride, but I have arrived. I'd like to introduce the newest addition to the pilots community, yours truly! Earlier today, I passed my private pilot checkride. It's such a great feeling of achievement and satisfaction. To be honest I didn't feel this good even after my PhD defense!!!

Many of you guys have been part of this journey for me, which is why I'm proudly announcing my pilot certificate here to you guys :) Thanks for all the support!

(Special thanks to drseti, whose signature is on one of the entries in my logbook.)

I'm so proud of you, Reza! It's been a long 15 months since we flew together, but you've persevered. Now go fly frequently, and safely (and do please keep in touch).

Congratulations - that's great!

If and when you feel like "spreading your wings", take a look at a cross country down my way.

Love to go flying with you, and a good way to ease into mountain flying.

Not to mention it's gorgeous 'round here!

Now grab a friend and fly to Mattoon for breakfast or lunch. Start watching the list of events in your area and take time to go to some of them. We have a nice Fly In breakfast here at KOLY the first Sunday in June.

Just a little short hop out of the pattern for him. It is kind of the go to restaurant on a airport around these parts. The food is good enough that they have good local support too. They have been there with the same management for a long time.

If you want to make a longer flight you can go to KSIK for some throwed rolls from Lambert's. Fly in and can call for a ride, they will pick you up. Sometimes the person at the FBO will ask if that is where you are going and make the call for you so you don't have to wait long, if at all. The best part is they walk you in the back way ahead of the line, which can be over a 2 hour wait sometimes.
