Just curious - do you transit within the Bravo? Hartsfield, here in Atlanta, has a VFR corridor over the top at 4,500'. I routinely use it if headed south... just wondering if other Bravos do the same thing.snaproll wrote:I live 15 miles outside of the LAX 30 mile class B veil and routinely transit within the 30 mile veil.

Same for LAX - VFR corridor over LAX north and south. I seldom use it as I typically fly southeast between Oxnard and Riverside passing over Burbank Airport.Flocker wrote:Just curious - do you transit within the Bravo? Re: New Garmin ADS-B Units
Why replace the transponder? Just add in a remote mount GPS20A ($850 retail) as a position source to your GTX-330 and you're done with a compliance ADS-B In system. Very little butchering and you'll save a bunch of $$$.

Re: New Garmin ADS-B Units
A thought... It is my understanding I would need to send in my GTX-330 to Garmin and have it upgraded to the GTX-330ES, about $1200.00 to reach compliance using the GPS20A as the source. That is why I am considering the GTX-335 for $2995.00 and reselling the GTX-330 afterwards. I am still waiting for a response from Remos as to whether they are going to add the GTX-335 to the approved equipment list or if I have to pay for an LOA for the installation.dstclair wrote:Why replace the transponder? Flew my Remos GX to Santa Paula Thursday and met with the Garmin Avionics Guru (licensed avionics shop). The GTX-335 is a one day installation and compatible with installed systems. The GPS antenna will be mounted under the dash cover just aft of the firewall. Planning the install for this summer.
Re: New Garmin ADS-B Units
Don, are you going to be able to get an LoA from Remos for this unit?

Re: New Garmin ADS-B Units
Already contacted Remos. They are going to put together an installation kit for the GTX-335 and agree this unit is the answer in the Remos. When I contacted them a year ago regarding ADS-B Out, they advised "wait and see" what is coming out - they were right.... After a kit is available, they will add the GTX-335 to the current "approved equipment list" for the Remos. Will request the LOA only if they delay their kit.drseti wrote:Don, are you going to be able to get an LoA from Remos for this unit?
