What's the best GA airport to fly light sport into LA?

Post by howardnmn »

My daughter just started studies at UCLA and I'm trying to decide which airport would be the best to fly into for a weekend visit? (I'm flying in from SF Bay Area)

Could be Santa Monica, Burbank, van Nuys or other.

By "best" I mean simplist vfr approach, lowest cost tie down & fuel, and best connections to get to UCLA

KSMO...They will charge a landing fee, about $6.00 per/1k lbs. You will likely avoid most of the traffic to UCLA. I get an UBER or cab. Its is about 10-14 minutes (normally) depending on traffic. Enjoy!

Thanks for your reply

We visited KSMO on road trip. American Flyers FBO looks like best place to tie down for LSA type @ $10/night. Both FBOs very friendly but one on north side fancier but a bit more expensive
