Re: Polls on SportPilotTalk?
I voted yes, but might have voted differently if the question was worded differently .
Should we, instead of can we.
Should we, instead of can we.

That is the sort of gratuitous pedantry up with which we should not put!3Dreaming wrote:I voted yes, but might have voted differently if the question was worded differently .

Re: Polls on SportPilotTalk?
Oh crap…I spoiled my vote.
Re: Polls on SportPilotTalk?
The word is pedantic or pedantical.FastEddieB wrote:That is the sort of gratuitous pedantry up with which we should not put!3Dreaming wrote:I voted yes, but might have voted differently if the question was worded differently .

2. overly concerned with minute details or formalisms. The reference is gratuitous and so is ending a sentence with an irregular verb - put.
Re: Polls on SportPilotTalk?
No, pedantic pedantical are adjectives. Pedantry is correct as a noun. In Eddie's post, the adjective gratuitous modifies the noun pedantry. (But now I'm being pedantic.)

My mom, who taught me well, emphasized one should never end a sentence with a proposition!drseti wrote:No, pedantic pedantical are adjectives. Pedantry is correct as a noun. In Eddie's post, the adjective gratuitous modifies the noun pedantry. (But now I'm being pedantic.)
Re: Polls on SportPilotTalk?
My mom also taught me well. She emphasized that a preposition was the wrong word to end a sentence with. I mean, with which to end a sentence on. That is, for which to end a sentence at.

Re: Polls on SportPilotTalk?
I voted no, just cast a vote in a poll claiming that we can't have polls.
