N25DV moving out of PA => ME

Post by David »

I recently took a new job in Bangor ME. Peg and I will be relocating in the next few weeks. I am looking for a new home for N25DV, she may need to stay in PA until spring when they start new T-hangers at Old Town (KOLD) or Hancock County - Bar harbor (KBHB). It is going to be tough leaving our good friends in PA, NJ,& MD, there is a very strong and tight knit flying community. I’m going to miss the flights on weekends for breakfast and the great fly-ins in the area.

The good news, we moving to a house on the lake with a great view, about 40 min from Bar Harbor. I am sure most of my flying buddies will be visiting after the winter – LOL. With all of the lakes I guess I will have to look into an amphibian aircraft. The thought of rolling out of the hanger and down to the lake and then taking off from my house is appealing :)

Paul thanks, I will be back a few times for fly-ins and try to make the Sentimental fly-in.

Good thing the forum is everywhere, so I'll still be around :)

Love the new job and everything is going great, moving the first week of Dec. I found a hanger and hope to Fly the RV12 up here soon.
Got to love in air wifi, I am flying back to Bangor on USAIR and say your post. Below is an earlier post from the VAF forum;

For my friends a little update - Made it to Maine and had a welcome snow storm a few weeks ago.

The good news I found a future home. Great guys at Belfast, not sure why the welcomed me

Last night I went to their EAA chapter and joined. Small group but an active chapter. Looks like there will be 5 RV's on the field soon.:D

Lots of questions about what the guys in PA, I lied and didn't tell any stories except about Vlad. They did ask if I knew the infamous one - not sure why

I did say Vlad would be gracing us with a visit sometime next year along with the other cast of characters from the PA area

The EAA meeting was in Peter's hanger, He's got a nice RV12.

Everyone in the RV universe knows the infamous Vlad. I was just in Tennessee last week, and his name came up!

OK gentlemen it's time for introduction. All talks about the fame etc. are greatly exaggerated just an average Russian guy here with aspiration for flying.
Glad to be here thanks for great resource! I already personally know several members of this wonderful site and one of them led me in right direction.
Good evening everyone!

Welcome aboard, Vlad. We're happy to have you here.
Is it true that you turned a Brooklyn flat into an airplane factory?

Speaking of relocating, EAA chapters and such... I can't seem to find too much active in the Ithaca/Cortland NY area. It would be great to have more individual and/or group resources up here. Any suggestions?

My daughter-in-law recently purchased a Chevy Impala. Of course, she named it Vlad.
