No need to feel that way Dave, you have a good setup.
All of that withstanding, my favorite device, by far, is the iPad Air.
Awesome.
What's more, it gets better by the day, with all the streaming software upgrades.

I think I can find a hamburger joint with all of this in VFR weather conditions. Oh yea, I also have a SkyGuard ADS-B transceiver feeding the Nexus 7 weather and traffic.
Awesome.
As long as we can still see and hear, you and I have absolutely no excuse for ever getting lost.
Matter of fact, weather permitting, with a good compass and up to date paper charts, there is no excuse either.
It's fun learning to use the "gadgets" though, eh?
OK -- all of us have overkill for low and slow VFR flying.
I love my gadgets as much or more than the next guy but also rediscovered fairly simple flying by accident. I had taken my 795 out to update and forgot to bring it with me on my next flyable day. I was just flying around the patch so I figured I'd fly like I was taught. I had my iPhone 6 has my EFB then took off to local landmarks using mostly dead-reckoning. Noticed I spent almost zero time checking my iPhone, spending most of time looking outside. Lot of fun. Kind of reminded me why I fly.

Dave,
You make a very good point.
My next flight I'm going to do the same thing.
