I agree the weather hasn't been the best up here.

I fly a little over 100 hours a year. If you want to get some more flying time we should meet for Breakfast on a weekend half way between us. I am sure DeltaFox would be up for it also since he is in the area. Shoot me a PM if you are in.

I got my CTSW last July, and since then have about 70 hours on it. The weather has been hinky this winter, and I am very conservative in what weather and winds I will fly in until I get more hours and experience. I fully expect to get 100+ hours in the coming year.

This may be doable. :-)
N30 (Cherry Ridge is 77 nm for you and 80 nm for me, but I don't know if the restaurant is open anymore. Any suggestions?

I think it has reopened and I will call and check in. This weekend I'm getting the plane pinstriped but maybe the 17th or 24th?

I see Dave (deltafox) is in also and Mark with his RV12

I flew 45 hours in just under the last 8 weeks. Granted that's during a "a good weather season" with the excitement of a new plane. I think I will do 250+ hours a year.

Maybe the first year. That will then taper off. I run a flight school fulltime, and am hard pressed to average that many hours.

I flew over 200 hours my first year back, in my CTSW. Then came the recoveryless recession and I'm lucky I still have a plane.

I really think this depends and maybe the program hasn't really been around long enough to tell. There are a lot of PP's that probably would have opted for SP if it was around when they got there ticket. I think there is a mix among both PP and SP of guys who like flying around home base and those who like to go places. No doubt that the only way to build significant hours is to go places. That is my personal experience with it. I know for me personally I would like to get my PP at some point in the next couple of years so that I have the option to fly club owned planes around here if I want to go places. There are almost no LSA's for rent around here and the one that is not remotely good for cross country. I definitely view the SP license as a license to learn for me and I want to go well beyond it eventually.
