They had a storm roll through just after noon. Several airplanes damaged including Thorp T-18 that belongs to a local here. News reports say some minor injuries. Everybody that I haved talked to is OK.

I live locally to Sun-n-Fun and have heard rumors that close to 50 aircraft were damaged in the storm. I cannot confirm that report and it is only a rumor, but I heard that Zenith and the Aircams were hit the hardest. There is still about 50K people without power at 5pm.

The fellow I talked to on the field said 60-70 airplanes with damage. Here is a link to some pictures.

I'm really glad that there were no fatalities, and that they were able to clean up and go on with the show today.  It was heart breaking to see all of those beautiful planes torn up.

What a difference a day or two makes. Our only weather-related problem at Sun n Fun on Tuesday was sunburn!

Thankfully there were no serious injuries on Thursday.
