The mud was last weekend. I'd hate to try it now.

So I am trying to get my checkride done and, as mentioned, I am not having any luck finding a tailwheel qualified sport pilot examiner.
The one guy that does it has not been returning my calls.

I called the local FSDO and they said they would do the checkride, but they want to send 3 people!! 1 for the oral, 1 for the flight test, and 1 guy to do an airworthiness inspection of the airplane. Sorry, but that's nuts. There are too many conditionals and I don't want my Cub grounded because of whatever issue they find. There is nothing wrong with my airplane and I've had 2 IAs tell me the planes airworthy, but the local FSDO has a bad rap of grounding airplanes for every little thing.

Not to dump on your instructor, but it's really his or her responsibility to find you an examiner.

Really? Every checkride I've ever taken, I had the option of picking the examiner. The CFI's may have suggested one, but they didn't make the selection for me. Not that I'm saying its wrong to do it that way, just certain people do it different ways.

Let me rephrase that. It is your flight instructor's obligation to locate and recommend one or more examiners. You are right, the final choice is the student's.

Hmm, I thought the FSDO could give DPE's a one time approval type deal to do a checkride they otherwise wouldn't be able to do. Maybe that's only with mult-engine stuff, but I'd imagine it would be similar. Does anybody know how that works?
