Post by seaplane_tux »

Aero-News.Net just released this article.

Aero-News.Net Rotax 2000 hour TBO Article

Rotax Service Bulletin SB-912-057UL .pdf

2000 hour TBO will help us bring the cost of operation down on our S-LSA. Heck, we might be able to buy a couple more LSA's for our FBO :D

requirements vary by engine serial number

Read the Rotax service bulletin carefully, folks. The newer engines qualify for 2000 hour TBO without modification. Slightly lower s/n engines require a change of the oil pump plug screw and pressure spring (my SportStar's engine falls into this category). The earliest s/n engines also require a crankcase check (and possible mod). In all cases, the service bulletin requires that the prop governor be inspected at 1000 hours TTSN.
