Re: Looking for a CFI - not that easy
I started training in a 172, Cirrus sr22, then a Flight Design, then a Tecnam Bravo, then P92 Echo. 172 again, Jabiru 170, and finished training in a Tecnam 2004 Bravo. Every time I switched planes there was hours of de-programming me from the last airplane. I love that I have experience in the diff...

Re: Materials Needed for Training ?
By now you realize that flying is the hobby you pay for with hundred dollar bills.
There are hundreds of flying vids on youtube for free. Mzeroa has a bunch and fun to watch.
The book ‘Stick and Rudder’ by Wolfgang Langewiesche was eye opening for me.

Re: Materials Needed for Training ?
I used the Pilot Training Solutions private pilot bundle.
Bought in the app store on my I-pad.
$100 or so.
I loved that it was always with me and I could keep repeating lessons.

Re: Looking for a CFI - not that easy
If I was starting fresh,I would start by finding a local Eaa chapter or just go hang out at the local airport in order to find someone who is flying quite a bit and would like company. Believe it or not, Pilots find it difficult to find people to go flying with and end up flying around by themselves...

Re: Looking for a CFI - not that easy
Regarding 2 week crash courses. I am not at all sure I could have managed the accelerated course. I found that 2 one hour lessons in one day taxed my ability to absorb the information. By the middle of the second hour, I began to get worse and make small mistakes that would only frustrate me. I stud...

Re: Looking for a CFI - not that easy
I see I wrote cfis instead of Cfi’s and inserted another complete debate subject. I meant to write Cfi’s. I have never actually met a cfis. As for the Florida question, I am mostly retired and spend about 1/3 of the time in Florida. I started with First Landings around April 2016 and finished in Sep...

Re: Looking for a CFI - not that easy
I started on the road to sport pilot in 2009 and ran into the same thing. Rude, arrogant, unhelpful people that kept telling me what I wanted. I was 49 at that time so finally had the money to pursue my dream. The sport pilot rule was only 5 at that time so some cfis might be forgiven for thinking I...

Re: My First Passenger
Great fun!
I spent a lot of time giving rides around lake apopka too.
One of my favorites is flying to breakfast at Tampa North X39.
Nice flight, not too long, and great food at the little restaurant there.
Careful of the class bravo.
Congrats on getting your cert and happy flying!

Re: Glad to join
Similar story. I began training at First Landings Aviation in Apopka, Florida April 2016 at 53 and passed my check ride that September. I trained in tecnam Bravos, p92 there and occasionally Jabiru and Flight Design up in Minnesota. I located and purchased a 2006 Tecnam P92E in Clearwater and purcha...
