Re: Upset recovery training
If memory serves, Fast Eddie used to own and instruct in a Citabria. Perhaps he would care to chime in here. Thanks for thinking of me. A Pitts or an Extra or even “just” a Decathlon would all be a hoot. But for more “real world” similarities to our planes, I think a Citabria or a 150/152 Aerobat w...

Re: Pandemic Precautions
The pandemic will be over with on Wednesday, November 4, 2020. So much to unpack from that pretty straightforward assertion, but this is hardly the place for that. Good news is in just a few weeks the validity of that statement will be tested, and we’ll all get to see if it was accurate o...

Re: In Defense of Marc Ingegno Brakes
also found some riveted linings that match the shape of my pads nearly perfectly, and may experiment with those some time in the future. It's an experimental , Eddie. I would expect no less of you. Like I said, if these pads go 13 more years that’ll make me 84, so it may never come up. But it may. ...

Re: Comparing S-LSA to E-LSA insurance rates
Jumping back in for a moment... I agree that with an EXPERIMENTAL, there's no guarantee regarding the quality of the work performed or the appropriateness of modifications made. However, in my experience to date the same thing can be said for "certified" planes and S-LSA's. Lots of very sh...

In Defense of Marc Ingegno Brakes
I know the Marc Ingegno brakes on my Sky Arrow have a bad rap. Many upgrade their CT’s or whatever to Matcos, both for power and durability and cheaper replacement parts, especially brake pads. I also know new Sky Arrows come with Beringer brakes, which have a good reputation. I’ll admit my brakes c...

Re: 2013 Tecnam P2008 (Turbo)
I sympathize with Banker. I’m sure this was not what he expected - looks like a great plane! Then again, I think this thread contains valuable knowledge and caveats. And let me add: once a plane is somehow taken out of LSA standards - in this case by the allowable useful load being too low with the ...

Re: Comparing S-LSA to E-LSA insurance rates
Not recent, but in 2009, when I converted mine, my rate actually went down a bit. However, that was primarily because as an Experimental they would only insure the hull for $50k, down from the $60k (I think) I had insured it for prior. Bear in mind at the time a Sky Arrow like mine sold for $75.5k n...

Re: LSA weight difference
Here’s a post I made on that video over on Pilots of America: That’s a scary and sad but informative video. Warren Zevon once sang “You’re a whole ‘nother person when you’re scared”. Once panic sets in, everything changes. In this video we see at least two cognitive flaws working at once. Task Fixat...

I have no idea, but a quick call to Mike Huffman at Sport Aviation Specialties should help answer your questions.

Re: Simple question: Cheapest source for ROTAX 912 oil filters?
Thanks all.
I have two enroute from Lockwood. With tax and shipping the $19.95 worked out to $24.90 each.
As an aside, I can't believe how quickly annuals roll around, even the 13 month kind! It seems like I just did one and already I'm due the end of next month!
