Great decision to become a pilot. I made the same decision at age 55. I'm now 60 and have had a great time the past 5 years. Many more years of flying in my future. Sport Pilots rule!

Great vids showing the performance of one kind of plane on two different landing configs. Do you have any vids of the nosewheel cub in the bush? Would be very interesting to see. Also, it appears the mains on the nosewheel plane have not been moved rearward at all. Are the mains in the same location...

No need to. Most Kitfox IV's have a gross weight of 1200# so they can be flown with a sport pilot certification just the way they are. Just make certain it has a ground adjust prop rather than in flight adjustable.

You are correct. I now own that plane, 85DD. I have converted it to a tri gear & taildragger convertible. I will have it at the 25th Kitfox anniversary fly in on Labor Day this fall.

I really liked both the AV8OR and the Lowrance 2000c. I was able to look at them side by side and decided on the Lowrance 2000c, which I really like now that it is in my plane. When I compaired them side by side I did not like the touch screen of the AV8OR, which I thought I would really like. But i...

I have been using a full synthetic oil in my Rotax engine, which is not recommended when using 100LL. 99% of the fuel I have been using is mogas. However, I am now going to change to the AeroShell Sport Plus 4 10w40. The Kitfox factory recommends this oil for those using 100LL as well as those using...

I don't know about harder or easier, but it is my understanding that the PPL ground school and written exam includes everything from the Sport Pilot test, plus more. So, if you have studied for the PPL you should be good to go for the Sport Pilot test. At least, that is what I have heard.
