2007 CTsw for sale... and a story

Boris is 92 and has been flying since he was 19. He received the FAA Master pilot award in 2009. Because it's become a "hassle" to open his hangar doors and push the aircraft around, Boris is selling this 2007 CTsw. No, he's not giving up flying, he's going back to gliders! This is a 2007 ...

Re: Aborted Solo Cross Country - Got thrown arounbd in the Sky

I like what RTK says... In fact, I use that analogy with all non-pilot passengers. Having them notice that what we believe is a smooth ride in a car, isn't really smooth, sets their expectations for a ride in a small airplane. Down here in the Southwest, we have horribly bumpy flying a lot. The grou...

Re: Arggg nonsensical financing

Or maybe a friend or family... with the proper paperwork and assurances, they may prefer 5-7% interest from you, over the pittance they're getting from Banks/CDs. I was lucky enough to be able to do that, and he was happy to make a good return.

I like the 401K/insurance loan ideas, too.

Did post on VansAirforce... post was yanked and I was banned, with no explanation, for life. I see other posts there about Rotax classes, so I'm puzzled.

Re: Who Can Fly Your LSA?

Here in AZ there are a dozen or more CTs. We sometimes help each other out and give rides back/forth for annuals or maintenance (to Tucson Roger Lee). This is CT owners flying other CTs. If someone is sick and can't fly, maybe someone else will take the plane down for an annual and pick it up a week...

Re: Who Can Fly Your LSA?

Mack, My Hallmark Aerospace policy (they bought AIG) initially said the same thing, but I asked to have it changed.... they agreed and changed it to "light sport or more advanced pilot certificate and has a minimum of 500 total logged hours, including not less than 10 hours in the same make &am...

Re: Best Company for LSA Insurance

I'm OK with it. The original policy said Private license needed, with 1k hours and 25 in make/model. Dropping it to Sport pilot and above, with 500 hours and 10 in make/model seemed like a reasonable compromise.

Re: How close to a bird strike?

You never know.... I've flown 1,000 ft AGL along the beach for hundreds of miles and never saw a bird, but then hit one flying 6.5k msl over the desert. No damage, but bits and feathers in the radiator and blood spattered here and there... http://azctflyer.com/images/ctswbird1.jpg http://azctflyer.c...

Re: Best Company for LSA Insurance

Mine dropped a bunch... went with "Hallmark Aerospace Insurance Managers" who bought AIG Aerospace. $888, down about $450 from several prior years. When asked, they amended my OPW to "light sport or more advanced pilot certificate and has a minimum of 500 total logged hours, including...
