Re: Hello from Utah
Howdy! From a neighboring corner state, NM. Fly safely and respect density altitude where we fly.

Turns around a point...learn wind compensation and altitude control climbs/descents to defined altitudes and headings slow flight, flaps/no flaps, holding altitude keeping ball centered, recognize power requirements for these trimmed conditions Pattern entries..crisp and at al...

Re: ADS-B for Evektor Sportstar?
Ok, Steve Minnich is online and LOA for the EchoUAT is being processed by Evektor. So, it is a viable ADS-B option.

Re: ADS-B for Evektor Sportstar?
Has anybody heard from or contacted the Minnich family at Midwestsportplanes? Their website has been down for several days. Facebook posting shows their area got hammered by storms. Evektor directed me to them for ADSB LOA. I hope they're alright!

Re: Engine trouble on takoff
I had an issue when I used a thin layer of silicone gasket sealer to hold the float bowl gaskets in place. DON'T DO THAT!!! The silicone can react with the gas and turn to jelly: https://live.staticflickr.com/1654/24675287222_ccbd06c91c.jpg Pretty sure this is what caused some very rough running ov...

Re: Hanger Space...no luck
Buy an airpark home and live with your plane. It is awesome. :D Show-off !! That's certainly "livin' the dream". And YOU get to fly near sea level! Show off!! Density altitude sucks. But then, when I do fly down to lower elevations, it's like I just uncorked a supercharger...

I'm probably going this route for my 2006 Sporty. Sent an email request for LOA to Evektor. It's about the most inexpensive option I have found.

That is just horrible news.
Santa Fe...high and often windy. Density altitude, never good with airport elevation 6348' MSL.
Tailwinds and eternal peace to those lost.

low volt lamp flashes in my Sportstar as well, at low throttle setting. Goes away once throttled up to fly.

Re: Student Sport Pilot in New Mexico
I hope it all went well for you. I'm a PPSEL, on my third airplane now, 2006 Sportstar SE, based at E98 (airpark...plane at my house) south of ABQ. There are a few LSA's here. I wanted to "down size" from certified aircraft while still keeping PPSEL privileges and burning mogas available a...

Back to the OP, welcome! This, from a fellow 2006 Sportstar owner. :D It's been a great airplane, first annual with me as owner showed absolutely no surprises. Cheap to operate, nimble and the view is simply amazing. My wife hated flying our C-180...felt like being in a dark cavern to her. You don't...

I'd find another airport.
They wonder why GA is dying when they make it harder and harder to keep aviation affordable.

Re: Rv 12 55k with everything
I'm seeing a lot of RV12's for sale these days.
Something weird about them?
Not bashing Van....I'm an RV8 builder/flyer (400 hrs) and hold Van's Aircraft in very high regard. I just see more -12's listed vs. the legacy model RV's.

Re: High Altitude Airports and LSA
I'm at 4800' MSL. 100hp Sportstar. I'm finding it quite nimble and comfortably airborne with plenty of runway to spare with full tanks and solo anytime of the year. So, weight management is important. With ~30 gallons available on full tanks and the endurance of the Rotax engine, I'm fine with flyin...
