Re: Hi from CT

I trained in a Cub first, then a Kappa... at Chester, CT airport. The instructors there are A+... get in touch with me if you want information.

Will be transitioning to (my) CT beginning this Saturday weather permitting. Andrew

Re: FAA Action Against Sensenich

This horse is just about dead :D I come from the aerospace manufacturing industry... recently retired. There are two types of shops... manufacturers of product (the Sensenich Prop Co) and the repair shops (the guy in CT). Operationally, they are completely different. One group makes Parts and ships ...

Re: FAA Action Against Sensenich

Selling a business can be confusing. Tim is correct... the Sens. Co sold their "Repair Shop" in CT... and "sold" means they most likely sold the repair shop assets only... and not the equity... i.e. they sold the machines, the right to lease (or bought the building), the right to...

Re: four Paramotors under the Nicholson Bridge

Over the last several years... many make the news. This isn't a political forum... so we won't go there... however Geraldo started it... they all do it. Acosta? Again it is not flying, it is a business.

Re: four Paramotors under the Nicholson Bridge

This isn't about "flying", it is about a continuous raising of the YouTube bar... this is his job . And his job is no different than what the newspapers strive for everyday... the more eyeballs (clicks) the more money he makes (Hyundai ads, etc.). I actually agree with the comment about ge...

Re: Update on LSA limits from Oshkosh

Andy, that is the attitude I took venturing back into this exciting and expensive life we call Aviation... I literally grew up with A&P's who drilled safety/planning/ "there are old pilots... blah..." into me -- usually laced with X-rated prose. Invariably, I have a low risk profile an...

Re: Rumplestilskin here...

Thank you Tim and Bill... yes, I joined the CT forum... tons of passionate advocates and advice on the type. Presently in the Ground school phase, learning everything I can. The major difference in learning between the 1970's and today is the internet, i.e. YouTube and of course Forums like this one...

Re: Rumplestilskin here...

Purchased a new Flight Design CTLSi -- arrives in October. Meanwhile, received a tailwheel endorsement in a Cub recently, and, soon to take lessons in a Kappa. Hopefully, the PPL is active by the time the FD is assembled and ready in October. After working for 34 years, a jillion hours a week, and l...

Re: Rumplestilskin here...

Thank you all, what a great group... back in 2011 I re-started lessons and I did get the plastic card and the medical. I flew about 7 hours of lessons with my 22 yo instructor and the physical flight aspect came back but I was confused on the ground school stuff... Then I bought an antique house tha...

Re: Rumplestilskin here...

Thanks Dave, Agreed, but I want the factory installed BRS, autopilot, the fancy Garmin and the hot tub too...; ) Read the 1,320lb posts which really opened up my eyes on mission/plane choices, there is a lot of solid talent here which is why I joined. Great site. I am an out of date Private Pilot - ...

Re: Rumplestilskin here...

Thank you for the reply... to answer your questions; I am 190 according to the pretty nurse's aid during my last checkup, but I swear I'm still 168...; ) son is about 160 = 350 lbs. Good question about the mobility... he isn't terribly graceful, and I would have to guide him in/out... What I need to...

Rumplestilskin here...

Worked at the Plymouth, MA airport since 12, eat, breathed and flew planes until 21, then off to college, moved to New York, got married, responsibilities piled up and now I am 56 living in CT and want to get back into flying. The planes I flew in the 70's are still very much on the scene. The big d...
