If you can remember the instructors names, you could try looking for them. If you had medical during prior training it would have your hours on the form and a copy could be obtained from the FAA. http://www.landings.com/evird.acgi$pass*184203707!_h-www.landings.com/_landings/pages/search/certs-pilot...

Pilot Gary; May we ask what the medical condition was that resulted in no medical. Since 1978 there has been many changes to the disqualification's and your condition may not apply now or there may be waivers available.

I think an interesting question might be this. A commercial rated pilot allows there medical to lapse and decides to fly LSA at the sport pilot level. After time the pilot takes a BFR from Sport CFI. After taking the BFR the pilot receives the medical again. Would the pilot be legal to fly a non LSA...

If you were a commercial pilot, with a current 2nd class medical or better, and with a current CFI rating there would be no problem. At the sport pilot CFI level the answer is very clouded. The administrator could construe that as you are demonstrating the aircraft you could be considered as an airc...

Depending on your condition, it may not now be as large of a problem as it was then. They have been many advances as to what the FAA will allow. Many heart conditions and even some forms of diabetes are being allowed now.

As a sport pilot you would not necessarily receive a third class physical with a student certificate. Without the student certificate there would be no place to write the type of aircraft you are authorized to fly. You see technically in one sense you are not a student, you are a certified pilot. He...
