Re: Moved to Philadelphia: Sport Pilot Training options?
Thanks for the welcome AJ! The reason why I am going for the sport pilot license is primarily because of medical issues. I'd rather not say more than that. Also I think the sport pilot license is cheaper and easier to get than a PPL. Thanks to JoeM I found out more places in the area that offer spo...

Only been to the restaurant at RDG once, this past spring...I'd say your assessment is pretty much right on: typical bar/pub food; solid, nothing special. That's wild that there was a wake there! I need to get back there and check out the museum. One of the few Class D airports with an associated ap...

Re: Moved to Philadelphia: Sport Pilot Training options?
I know there were hand controls developed for the Flight Design CT. I'd forgotten about that...just came across that again today, too. Thanks. What about Philly Sport Pilot? I believe they have the SkyArrow with hand controls. The owner / founder was at the Sebring Expo this year. Their website kee...

Re: Moved to Philadelphia: Sport Pilot Training options?
OP: welcome to the Philly area! I think I asked in the past and don't remember your answer: any particular reason you're solely going for the sport pilot license vs. your private? Not questioning your decision, but I'm just making sure you're not limiting yourself when it comes to options. I just di...

Just seeing these now...fun pics and vid! I did a dog rescue flight back at the end of January...we put Dexter's bed in the back of the C172R that I rented, and this 90 lb hound mix just jumped right in and settled down. He slept for most of the 2h 45m flight from SFQ/Suffolk, VA up to 7B6/Skylark, ...

Re: NYC Class B
Hello to all...been a while, hope you've all been well. My most recent excursion in the NYC Class B airspace: Central Park, taken yesterday (8/9/16) from the Hudson River at 1,500' by my wife. Upper West and East Sides below us (the building with the two towers right in front of the park is straddle...

Nice pics!
How's the FBO there? I have business down there about once a year, or once every other year...toying with the idea of flying myself down the next time I go.

Saw you pull in while my wife and I were having dinner at Fiorentino's, but didn't get a chance to say hello as you went through the patio/pub area of the restaurant too quickly for me to get up and catch you.
Nice SportCruiser.

Re: NYC Class B
A few shots from this past weekend (finally got around to resizing them for posting): - On the way out to KBID/Block Island, a work colleague/friend (who's a non-current pilot) and I flew south of KJFK over the water -- got the shot of the airfield as we were on our way up to 5,500'. - A shot of Low...

Re: Prof: New Plane?
Andy, with the SL30, you have the functionality of 2 navcoms in one box. You can dial in 2 frequencies each for nav and com (one active and one standby per). You can monitor 1 com frequency while the other is active (and swap by pushing one button) so you can cooy ATIS while monitoring ATC. For nav...
