Yeah, that's why I prefer repairing this one or getting the same model. I don't want any additional paperwork or having to do another weight and balance right now.
I'm waiting fir drseti's reply.

Re: ELT not working
Andy, I don't have the remote unit...only the main unit.
3Dreaming, it was working a year ago for the last annual inspection. Do you know what failed on your unit(s)?
Drseti, what is a "yellow tagged" unit ?

ELT not working
Last item on my annual (conditional) inspection today was the ELT. Even though all the voltage measurements are good according to the manual, the light does not come on when the ELT is put in the ON position, the G-force test did not work and there was no aural indications on 121.5. It's an Ameri-Ki...

Hangar space needed in northwest NJ
I have a Quicksilver Sport 2S (struts, no kingpost). I currently keep my plane at Trinca (13N) but the hangar is being demolished. If you know of anything within a reasonable distance, please let me know. You can reply here, email me at mikekopacki@gmail.com, or call me at 908-616-4588. Thanks, Mike

Re: Quicksilver + Bubble windshield = no airspeed indication
Yep, I understood that.
I have two separate tubes. They were mounted together. When I installed the bubble windshield, I moved them in front of the windshield. So I can install the static tube in a different location from the pitot tube.

Re: Quicksilver + Bubble windshield = no airspeed indication
Snaproll, your alternative is the normal way the pitot static system is set up. My static tube looks like a pitot tube with the front end closed off and 8 tiny holes around the sides (it's round). Drseti, I moved both pitot and static tubes out on the strut. Prior, the airspeed read about 7 MPH low....

Re: Quicksilver + Bubble windshield = no airspeed indication
I have relocated the pitot and static tubes to the strut and hooked up the static line. Hope to hook up the pitot line tomorrow evening and test fly.

Re: Quicksilver + Bubble windshield = no airspeed indication
I never thought about air being "bounced back" in the forward direction. I am thinking about relocating both tubes right now. Probably not too difficult. I just watched a Youtube video by Jeff Shapiro. He had the same aircraft and windshield. I'm going to try to locate him (I have no info ...

Re: Quicksilver + Bubble windshield = no airspeed indication
1 - I have had both the static and pitot lines disconnected during this whole troubleshooting process. I have tested both by blowing into the tube and feeling the air coming out of the tube at the other end. The tubes are clear. 2 - Fittings tightened down to tight? - Did you mean "Fittings tig...

Re: Quicksilver + Bubble windshield = no airspeed indication
Hmm. Hadn't thought of that. It was a clean break, the part that remained in the port were the actual threads of the fitting. I did have to use a roto tool to get the threaded, plastic piece out. I tried to keep it turned upside down but... What would happen if there was a piece of plastic in there?...

Quicksilver + Bubble windshield = no airspeed indication!
Folks, I need help. And will seriously consider all ideas.... I have a Quicksilver Sport 2S. Last year I installed the bubble windshield that is available from Air-Tech in Louisianna. Since the installation I have not been able to get an accurate airspeed indication. As of now, both the pitot and st...

Re: Rotax 2 stroke maintenance service
Sorry, Dr. S. Maybe I'm searching the wrong way? I'm only 20 miles from the PA border but Lock Haven is a pretty good ways out there. I did call Lockwood and all they did was direct me to the online list. At this point I don't care whether they are an approved Rotax center or not. Who is Ronnie Smith?

Rotax 2 stroke maintenance service
I have a Rotax 582. I live in NW New Jersey. I cannot find a Rotax service center that still does 2 stroke maintenance. Every center that I called from the Rotax online list only does 4 stroke work.
Does anyone know of any location, individual or centers, that can do Rotax 2 stroke service?

Re: Quicksilver stall characteristics
We'll, I can't say that I'm nervous about it, only that I want as much info as I can get. Quite honestly, I wasn't in tune with the concept of the thrust line being high. That sure does help. I also appreciate the lesson on aircraft design, relative to the CG and center of lift locations! And the vi...

Quicksilver stall characteristics
I have a Quicksilver Sport 2S. My flying history, however, has all been in aircraft with the engine out in front. So I have found it interesting that when I reduce power, the nose pitches up instead of down. After thinking about it, it now sounds logical since the engine is aft of the CG. I have onl...
