Deland vs Sebring
Wondering if anybody has an opinion here. Trying to decide between attending the new Deland Sport Aviation Showcase on 11/3 or US Sport Aviation Expo on 1/25/17. Budget only allows me to attend one of these shows. Been to Sebring twice before so I am familiar that particular show. Thoughts on if the...

Re: Sling 4
The Sling 4 is only offered only as an EAB kit. It flies at 130 knots, weighs over 1,600 lbs, has 4 seats and a constant speed prop so it in no way qualifies as a LSA.
I suspect a certified Sling 4 factory built under $200,000 would be very desirable.

Re: Here comes the Merlin!
The Merlin was not at Sun 'n Fun this year. Glasair passed on Sun ' Fun and have decided to exhibit at Aero Friedrichshafen instead as they have a diesel version of the Sportsman. They do claim that they will be at Oshkosh this year. Having visited the factory recently (my second trip) and seen the ...

Re: 2016 Expo
Thank you. Looks like Rans has put the S-19LS back into S-LSA production again. What did you think of it when you saw it? For safety reasons I happen to prefer the sliding canopy rather than the pop up canopy.

Re: 2016 Expo
Quick question. Was the Sling 2 from The Airplane Factory there and did anybody get to see it and perhaps take a demo flight? Would be interested in feedback on that particular plane.

Re: 2016 Expo
For those of you who have attended previously and based on the current list of exhibitors on the website does this show look larger or smaller than previous years?

Mark,
I would imagine that the P2006T with the Rotax 915iS could be a very compelling aircraft.

Hi Jake, would be interested in your opinion of the Astore. Which engine and avionics did you choose?

New RV12 Dealership
Just received the latest copy of the monthly RV12 newsletter in my email inbox. I have commented previously on this forum that I think it shows a lot of good marketing prowess from Vans to provide a tasteful and informative newsletter every month on the progress of the RV12 program. In the latest is...

Bloomberg Video & Article on ICON A5 in NYC
Nice video footage of the ICON A5 flying around NYC last week and landing on the Hudson River. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2015-09-17/the-icon-a5-is-the-closest-thing-to-a-flying-car-you-can-buy-today Looks to me like ICON is trying to entice the Wall Street Hedge Fund crowd to buy a new ...

Radio Questions
A couple of questions as it pertains to VHF radios and S-LSA's: 1. The Plane I am looking at has the Garmin 3X Touch and the radio being offered is the GTR200. If the manufacturer permits it, for the extra $3.1K is there value in upgrading to the Garmin GNC225 that includes, VOR, Localizer and Glide...

Re: New Rotax 915is trubo fuel injected 135 hp
Roger, interesting, this engine will be over 100 lbs lighter than the Continental CD-135 and have a 500 hour longer TBO. I expect it will be cheaper also. Do you think over time that this engine could give the CD-135 some serious competition? http://continentaldiesel.com/typo3/index.php?id=65&L=1
