Re: LSA rental has inoperable fuel gauge. How to deal with school to fix it?
I’m just disturbed that you even consider the fuel gauges in flight. There is a reason manufacturers technical specs show fuel burn in gallons per hour. I have never depended on a fuel Guage in an aircraft. My first instructor told me to never use the fuel gauges and I never have. I fill the tanks a...

Re: Factory-built Zenith STOL CH750 SLSA
"To me this is what killed the Cessna 162. It used an O-200D and could not compete on weight, and thus utility, of similar airplanes running a Rotax. A Skycatcher that weighed 60lb less and had a useful load of 550lb or so would have been a brilliant LSA." That and it wasn't made in CHINA!

Re: How much faster is a 172?
I have flown several mid 80's 172's and cruise runs at about 107 kts indicated give or take 5 knots at 3500MSL. Truth is a good LSA that can hit maximum allowed speed and some can, will out run most 172's out there in the pattern. I fly a PA-22/150 Tri-Pacer and I get about 110 MPH indicated at 2400...

That quote is from a home built accident several years back. That model has since then been through a wing spar upgrade and new specifications regarding adjustment of elevator cables.

USSYORKTOWN?
Does anyone have any current news on USSYORKTOWN?
Has he resolved any of his lawsuits?
Has he killed himself yet?
Is he back in the air?
Just wondering if he has finally done himself in.

Re: Fatal(1) Evektor Harmony in Russia
It looked to me like the instructor was spending a lot of time looking at the student and that he was surprised when the AC began to roll into the spin right at the end. Perhaps there was an issue with the AC? I stopped the video right at the inception of impact. There are some things in this world ...
