Re: Piper / Czech Sport Cruiser throttle cable...

McMaster Carr is a good source for hardware. Just make sure it meets the DIN specification called out in the parts manual. There are also a few of the eastern European airplanes that use AN hardware, so be sure to check.

Re: Piper / Czech Sport Cruiser throttle cable...

I'm not sure about the Sport Cruiser, but I have changed a few inner cable due to fraying. It is pretty simple, just find a cable of the correct diameter and the proper crimped end fitting. You might check with Cruiser Aircraft USA in Utah.

Re: Sport plot and carrying your log book

If your pilot certificate says "Sport Pilot" you are requires to carry endorsements. Recreational pilot and higher are not required to hold any of the sport pilot endorsements, 61.303. You do have to comply with the limitations.

Re: Winter Advice

You are probably better off just charging the battery and not starting the engine. The engine really needs to have an oil temperature of 190°f when running it, and preferably for more than just a couple minutes. Running it on the ground at 2500 will not achieve this. I have seen rust inside the rock...

Re: Using autopilot in airspace while under ATC control

I once got scolded by tower that I had drifted over the centerline of the parallel runway when I had been instructed to fly runway heading. I was flying runway heading, but there was a significant crosswind. At the time I wasn't quick witted enough to say, oh did you mean runway course.

Re: Hello from Phoenix

I just saw this post and am wondering if you can help me out. I have a SLSA and want (need) to change its classification to ELSA. I am having no luck finding a DAR-T with the appropriate endorse (157) to complete this transaction. You mention you have found one. I am in Indiana and it seemns there ...

Re: Ground school

You will need an endorsement for the sport pilot knowledge test. The private pilot endorsement that you will get with your package will not work. I would suggest once you have completed the course get together with an instructor and go over the differences in the knowledge test and get a sign off fr...

My office is just a few steps from the shop. I have a 32" TV for a monitor on my computer, and I often enlarge the pages. I will print any pages I need to take to the shop.

I don't think anyone here is suggesting that. Someone posted a person's comment from those submitted to the FAA already. It seems that person is against sport pilots.

drseti wrote: Tue Aug 22, 2023 2:12 am Of course, Tom is right about Teflon hoses. What we're talking about here is 5 year rubber replacement, not Teflon replacement.
My point is that depending on the airplane, the rubber replacement task may not be as big of deal as others.
