Re: Flight School for >87kts endorsement around Phoenix,

Good luck with the RV-12. I saw one for the first time last weekend. It looks like a really sweet plane and it supposed to be about as easy to fly as anything out there. I'm sure you will love it. Going from Remos to RV-12, you will probably want some transition training. Ron Oh, sure, I will get t...

I doubt that they will let you use an "outside" instructor due to insurance and reasons stated in other threads. Probably should just use the staff instructor familiar with the aircraft for your transition training. After that, you should be able to rent solo. That wouldn't be a big deal....

Alliance Scottsdale or Tucson Aeroservice Center Marana (Avra Valley) did have a REMOS also. Oh, I didn't know they had a Remos at KAVQ! That's right around the corner and practically on my way to the airport I fly out from, so I'd be faster taking the car to get there than flying. I'll check if I ...

It was my first time there this year and I flew in with my RANS S-12S and was surprised to hardly see any LSAs there. It's a cool event though and the food was excellent :-)

Flight School for >87kts endorsement around Phoenix, AZ?

I'm building an RV-12 right now but I acquired my Sport Pilot license in an aircraft with cruise speed of less than 87kts. So, before the FAA comes with more regulations and requirements for the endorsement for faster aircraft, I'd like to get it done rather sooner than later. My flight school in Tu...

We are currently processing permanent Airmen Certificates for temporary certificates that were issued approximately February 20, 2010. So, now I'm really confused. For two weeks I didn't see this message change and as of today it still says 'appr. Feb. 20th'. But when I checked my mail today I foun...

Which item do you click on to find out the status? I just passed on 2/25 and am looking forward to getting my actual license as well. :D Belated congrats! Comparini already posted the link, here it is again: http://www.faa.gov/licenses_certificates/airmen_certification/ Don't do what I did and sear...

Nobody else might be watching this but as I am excited to get my plastic certificate to replace that wimpy looking temporary one, I noticed that the FAA might have a time machine and is even making use of it ;-). More than a week ago their website said they'd be processing temporary certificates iss...

BTW, I get the "overwhemed" feeling you get when I look at a Garmin 1000 display. The Avidyne in the Cirrus was pretty intuitive and easy to interpret, however: I think you're right. The Avidyne looks indeed like something I could get used to. A good example how to declutter the overloade...

I don't want to step on any toes here, but I think a lot of it has to do with age. At the old age of 21, I've used computer nearly daily for the last 15 years. I was raised on the computer and love having all the technology right there. I love glass panels, and I feel like I can pull information of...

What's the fuzz about glass cockpits??

Excuse me if I ask a silly question but I'm relatively new to flying airplanes and so I might have missed why everybody seems to be totally thrilled by glass cockpits and seem to be totally thrilled about them. To the point that ordinary cockpits are put in a line with "steam gauges" as if...
