I still might make it back to try out the Sigma sometime. How's the Aerostar training going?

It was nice meeting you this past week, Philip. We'll have to get together for a trip to the airport when we can get our over-taxed schedules to coincide.

Did you get to take the Sigma up? I'm looking forward to your review.

I'll be at the 2010 Expo for sure. I missed out on it and the Sun n Fun this year, but will be hitting them both up the next time around.

Good to see you on here Philip. I've flown the Aerostar a couple of times myself. It's a decent plane, but I'd like a bit more than it has to offer...it's pretty bare bones. I sat in the Sigma as well, I really liked the layout of it.

Have you flown the Sigma at all? I've seen one once, and want to get an opportunity to fly one sometime. I haven't tried the Sigma. My instructor seemed to shy away from it. I really like the openness of it for viewing the ground. I think at this point I'd prefer a high wing plane to train in. That...

Cessna Skycatcher Coming to Town

When I was at my local FBO today, I had a chance to speak with the owner. They currently have 2 LSA's, an Aerostar 1, and an Elitar Sigma. He said that he plans on selling them both, and replacing them with a Cessna Skycatcher . It's still about a year out, but I look forward to having the opportuni...

I took and passed my Sport Pilot Airplane knowledge test this morning. There were a few questions that had me stumped, but I did well on the exam and am very happy with the direction that I received with the Gleim study kit. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again in the future when I look to upgrade ...

Hello Greg,

I'm new myself so I can't offer any guidance, but I do share your enthusiasm. I'm in Central Florida also, Winter Haven to be exact. Maybe we'll cross paths sometime...hopefully at different altitudes.

Welcome to the forum, there's plenty of archives to read through.

Here's a site that is dedicated to LSA. You can read through the available e-mags online, or download them as a PDF. They have some great articles and lots of eye candy.

Tecnam Excitement

I'm really looking forward to my first flight in the Tecnam P92 Echo Super. The school I'm going to check out next uses one for Sport Pilot training, and as long as I'm comfortable with the CFI and their program, I don't mind doing the extra drive to get to that school. It seems that just about ever...

A Great Resource Site

There are tons of sites out there that offer lots of learning resources for the aspiring pilot as well as those looking to hone their skills and knowledge. I've come across many as I'm sure you all have during your searches, but wanted to share this one. The full color PDF files of the Pilot's Handb...

So much for the best made plans. I didn't take the test this weekend, but did continue to study. I was feeling a bit puny when I woke up yesterday and didn't feel much like venturing out. All in due time.

Knowledge Test This Weekend

I'm ready for the knowledge test and have my sign off sheet. I think I'll go take it tomorrow. I used the Gleim Test Prep kit and in addition to reading the whole Pilot's Handbook, I used some supplemental material that aided in my understanding. It also helped me to find areas that I want to study ...
