I see that both Flight Design and Ledgend Cub are offering lightweight lithium iron batteries in their LSA's.
Sounds like a really good idea. Better starting and lower weight with longer battery life and no self discharge.
Anyone know whose batteries they are using?

FAA crackdown
One of the reasons I bought a Cubcrafters Carbon Cub was they are built in a factory alongside FAA certificated models . Cubcrafters uses the same FAA approved QA system for all of their airplanes. I just received a "safety alert" from Cubcrafters about a minor issue so I know the system i...

CubCrafters Carbon Cub
My new Carbon Cub Was deluvered to Indianapolis from Yakama WA this week. Two and a half days across the mountains - not bad. Good ferry pilot. I flew it for the first time today and what a hoot!!! :D It is a rocketship with seemingly unlimited power and manuerverability. I have flown many many airp...

Medical
Where I base my airplane there are many who do not have a medical and fly regular airplanes.

Rules
I said "it is my understanding" and I can't quote the rules. I have a good friend who was the Chief AME for the state of Indiana and a brother in law who was an AME until he retired. They both told me the same thing. "AME's are prohibited from doing pre screnings." That's where I...

Pre screen
My understanding is that all of the forms are numbred and must be accounted for by the AME. If you so much as write your name on one it must be submitted to the FAA. Additionally, an AME is prohibited from doing "pre screening" by regulation. I do think that you could find an AME who would...

Medical
You know that you don't need a medical for instruction. I just finished a BFR and tailwheel endorsement in a PA18 Super Cub with no medical. I was preparing for the delivery of my new Cub Crafters Carbon Cub SS. It is an LSA so I don't need a medical to fly it. By the way it's illegal for an AME to ...

CH 750
The OP asked about AMD built 750's. 3 sounds about correct from what I was told at Sebring this year. The problem is AMD is up to their eyebrows fixing past design flaws in the 650'S. I hope they make it through their problems and are successful in the market. We need American LSA aircraft manufactu...

CH 750
By the way --- I think the CH 750 is an interesting concept and if designed and built well and safely, would be a lot of fun. It would be very good on a short field without the problems of a tailwheel airplane. It is slow as a result of the fixed slots and the drag they create. About 90 MPH cruse II...

CH 750
At Sebring I asked the same question and IIRC the answer was one. It belonged to the dealer in Jacksonville, FL. I was interested in buying a CH 750 at that time. I talked to the dealer but never got a demo ride in their airplane. I was told the factory had started another airplane but it was delaye...

Training and insurance
Thanks for all the input! My soon to be delivered, new Cub Crafters Carbon Cub SS is, as LSA go, very expensive. Just about the most expensive LSA out there. I intend to insure it and have been getting quotes. Adding primary instruction more than doubles the cost. It may be cheaper to hire a...

Tailwheel landings
I ordered a Cub Crafters Carbon Cub last month for delivery in April. I have been flying a PA18 Super Cub to gain some experience in a similar aircraft. I now have about 4 hours in the PA18. So far, I don't see the "picture" when landing. It's either a bounce or a tail first landing or som...

Landing
Doss79
Now that's my kind of advice -----
Yesterday, out of 10 attempts 8 were "crashes" and 2 reasonable landings, the last two.
I guess I am getting a little better???
Thanks!

Landings
Thast sounds like a very good Idea.
I am sure the sight picture is the problem.
Weather permitting, I am flying the Super Cub tomorrow and will try the "level down the runway trick".
Thanks for the input.
