Any SP/LSA Denied Medical discussion at AirVenture2010?

Does anyone know if anything at all came out of AirVenture2010 concerning this Sport Pilot Denied Medical Catch22 issue? I have written my US Senator twice with no reply as of yet.

Administrator Babbitt addresses EAA crowd at AirVenture2010

I read this article online today. The administrator had some wonderful things to say about the LSA program. However, it is disappointing that he did not mention even one word about the dilemma that we certificated pilots have concerning our right and "permission" to fly under the Sport Pil...

My denied medical was in 1978. It is ridiculous that the SP/LSA ruling has this unfair clause to ground pilots for a denied medical in their distant past! Certificated pilots stay on the ground while new pilots take advantage of the SP/LSA ruling with a valid driver's license and the proper training.

SP/LSA Denied Medical Clause and AirVenture 2010

Will AOPA and the EAA have what it takes to allow grounded pilots to fly again just for fun? DOT and FAA will be at AirVenture 2010 listening to our quest so let's not let it pass by!

I have written to many FAA and DOT top officials and spoken to one. They have NO interest in changing this Catch-22 issue with the SP Denied Medical Clause. I am awaiting a reply from my US Senator in Washington DC with great interest. EAA and AOPA have effectively given up on this issue altogether ...

Will the SP Denied Medical Clause ever be removed?

I am a strong advocate to remove the Sport Pilot Denied Medical Clause. I have written to my US Senator, as advised, about this dilemma that many certificated pilots face. We are side by side to current and flying new sport pilots to aviation and have much more experience and flying time and yet we ...

Sport Pilot Instructor

I have a Commercial Pilot Certificate with a denied medical and hold a current and valid Driver's license. Can I now qualify to be a Sport Pilot Instructor? If so, what do I need to do to start teaching?

Medication that Disqualifies

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There are some medications that the FAA sees as automatically disqualifying for medical certification no matter how great we feel while taking it. Some have been around for many years and are very effective. It is a sha...

Here is a copy of the Sport Pilot Letter I am circulating: > > > I am writing on behalf of all the certificated pilots out there with a > denied medical who just want to fly Sport Pilot for fun. > > > > In 2004, the FAA passed into law the Sport Pilot Ruling, which allows new > pilots to aviation th...

Sport Pilot with a Denied Medical

I am a certificated pilot caught in this Sport Pilot Catch-22 dilemma (whereby my last medical was denied MANY years ago)...
I am really looking forward to flying SP/LSA with an engine attached and not just gliders...

Does anyone have any updates about this unfair Catch-22 issue?
