it's the last day of summer and it is snowing. i'm thinking about winter operations this year. i'm going to get an oil thermostat kit from lockwood, as well as a kt to relocate my oil pressure sending unit to the firewall.

i have a little block heater installed already and will put some aluminum tape of the radiator to limit it's effectiveness.

i also get out some clear packaging tape and cover wing root openings into the cockpit that vent cold air.

I spent some time recently with a Remos dealer, and he showed me that the G-3 is equipped with a cockpit controllable oil radiator cover - a sort of cowl flap for a Rotax. Maybe you can get your airplane's manufacturer to work up some sort of retro-fitable gizmo for your aircraft. I sure would like to have something like that for mine!
