Hey all,
I have about 40 hours, passed written and was a flight or two away from my checkride when some things hit the fan and I didn't have time for flying. I haven't flown in about 4 months and was wondering if you guys had any opinions on how long it would take me to get back to checkride ready. Thanks! |

| Everyone is different of course..... But I did the same thing last year. I had 35 hours in and was just about ready to check out. Then I had some surgery on my foot that kept me out of training for 4 months. Just like ridin' a bike. Took and passed my check ride with 39 hours. |

| Knock your required hours of "checkride prep within 60 days" and you will have what you need. |

| A four month hiatus shouldn't be much of an issue. I had a student with medical and work scheduling issues, who had to knock off for a whole year just after first solo. When he came back, it was like starting all over again, and it took him four months to finish his rating. So, yes, flying skills can be somewhat perishable. |

How old are you? I generally see age as the biggest factor in answering that question. Someone in their 20s will likely need a flight or two. A senior will likely need a goo chunk of time. Someone in between, will be somewhere in between.
