There was a wealth of info - including a broad selection of pics - published each day in the EAA AirVenture update emails that were available to all EAA members, provided you just register for it. It's the EAA's counterpart to AOPA's ePILOT weekly email (which BTW also featured a variety of pics and video on AirVenture). If you are an EAA member, you should find all that footage and pics still available on-line at the EAA website.
BTW - since this is somewhat related - AOPA has for some time operated an on-line video series that brings their annual conventions and a mix of other aviation related topics to any member who chooses to watch. (It's found at http://www.aopa.org/aopalive ). As one (of a thousand) examples, the editor of PILOT did a 30-minute interview with Harrison Ford at AirVenture that is quite interesting to listen to. It's easy to imagine such a successful actor having a large stable of planes (I counted 6 or 7...) but you might be surprised to learn he's done ~300 Young Eagles flights using a few of them.
So...my point is that AOPA is another highly diverse source of aviation information, along with the EAA, for anyone interested in learning more about flying, planes and pilots. And the fact that AOPA membership is free to student pilots is like icing on the cake. |
