| After 37 months of "stop 'n go" building, my Van's RV-12 ELSA kit is finally done and flying. :D So far I'm in the 3rd. hour of the 5 hour FAA mandatory fly time before I can take passengers. If anyone is interested in the particulars here is my Build Log Site http://www.JerryG150RV12.blogspot.com[/url] |

Way to go, Jerry! I just watched your videos, and it looks like a real airplane! You've done a fine job, and I'm sure you'll get years of enjoyment out of your RV. Stay safe. If you ever find yourself flying it in Central PA, please give me a call. I'd love to see (and maybe fly?) it.
Congratulations. |

My personal total build time was 1000 hours until my 2nd. triple by-pass surgery in Nov. 2010 ... after that it took an additional 300 hours by Jay Kurtz at South Lakeland Airport (X49). So 1300 hours seems to be the final figure for my RV-12.
An experienced builder should get the job done, in my opinion, in 900-1100 hours. I think Van advertises a build time of approximately 800 hours. |
