I'm in the California Central Valley where the winds are almost always north<>south. For the last 3 weeks we've been seeing gusty 5-18 knot west>east crosswinds. This makes landings Mr. Toad's Wild Ride in an LSA. Looks like the Jetstream has moved about 600 miles south from where it belongs and has brought crazy lower level winds with it.

We've had ridiculous winds all spring down here in South Texas... It's been challenging for students.

Texas is always windy in the spring but it's been really nuts this year. For example, this past holiday weekend the 'best' flying day (Friday) was 17G25 varying from 140-160 with my home runway being 17/35. Saturday-Monday winds were around 22kts base wind with gusts up to 40kts.

I too am in the Central Valley and it does seem that we are a month behind in the weather patterns. Usually see a NW wind....now somtimes it's W, SW, SE, or E. Havn't seen NE yet, but who knows...maybe today!

My favorite is a NW wind going out and an E wind coming in an hour later. Terrible winds, but the temperature is nice.

May around here was windy as all get-out, but that's not totally unusual.

No abnormal winds in my part of North Carolina, but the heat is unusual. We usually don't get the upper 90s till July and August.
