I'm just curious, I know that ultralights are EXTREMELY cheap and I can probably afford one, though I rather spend it on SP training. But I want to see how cheap does it cost per hour to fly a part 103 ultralight.
Does anyone know the answer to my question? Thanks! |

Kevin, maybe the reason you're not getting a lot of responses is that you ask a lot of questions and never seem to go anywhere with the answers. It costs money to fly and it costs money to train. You could help us out if you could give us some idea of how much money you can spend.
That said, where I live the only way to fly an ultralight is to first buy a share in one. That would set you back a few thousand dollars right away. The ultralights have 2-stroke engines that are very maintenance intensive. Ultralights also have to be kept in a hanger. So there's maintenance, training and hanger space. Less than light sport but way more than a car. |
